It was an absolute 'uplifting' experience to be Dr. Lecca's patient. Its an institute on its own having state of the art equipment and facility run by extremely professional people. I didn't have to wait a single second even once beyond the scheduled appointment time. Every single individual that we came across-be it the Receptionist or the Hygienist and Dr. Lecca... every one made an impression on us. They are all genuinely caring and they have time for their patients. In my entire previous dental history of check up and dental work, I don't remember any Doctor or Hygienist that spent more than 10 minutes (on an average) on me. In general isn't that the practice... making a quick buck wherever one can? Dr. Peter Lecca is extremely passionate about what he does and I see that all across his staff members. I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Lecca spent a good 30 minutes the first time just trying to understand my dental history so that he could act accordingly. I went to them in the early part of my 2nd trimester of pregnancy when my nausea/vomiting/discomfort continued endlessly. I found a 'mother's' touch at the way I was examined and when the dental work was done. The minute one walks in, one is greeted with the aromatherapy essential oils fragrance and a cheerful smile at the front desk....the relaxing process starts then and there! With them, I always felt I was at a 'dental spa' and not a dental clinic. One can see a strong emphasis on hygiene all around. If someone were to do a six sigma on this place, they would find a 0% defect... that's how efficiently this place operates!
My husband and I highly recommend this set up and the people that work here to everyone!

Dear Dr. Lecca and Staff,
I want to sincerely thank you for all that you’ve done to improve the quality of my life. I had about given up trying to find the right treatment for my jaw problem and am so appreciate of your skill and care in helping me. In case you would like to share this with others, I wanted to give a brief history of my situation and experience.
I have always taken care of my teeth and seen my regular dentist twice a year but in June of 2008 I still got a tooth ache in a bottom, right molar that was extremely painful. After seeing my regular dentist she recommended a consult with an endodontist. The endodontist performed a root canal which unfortunately was quite complicated. During the course of the root canal, a bite block was used for hours and this forced my mouth and jaw open and into an unusual position for a very lengthy period of time.
After the root canal, I noticed that my bite seemed off and talked to both my dentist and the endodontist about it. My dentist was shocked when she looked at my bite - instead of being able to close my mouth and have all my teeth touch each other only two teeth (the upper and lower wisdom teeth on the right side) were touching each other: Not only did this make chewing food almost impossible, it created a constant low level pain in my right jaw muscles. I began to search for some way to return to a normal bite and jaw alignment.
In the course of the year, I had multiple consultations with: another dentist, another endodontist, an orthodontist and a TMJ specialist. I had panoramic x-rays taken and an MRI performed. I ended up having another molar extracted because it could not handle the pressure that was being put onto it by the adjacent wisdom tooth. And I was still in pain and couldn’t eat normally. Even my speech was affected.
In October of 2009, I went to meet with Dr Lecca to see if there were any alternatives to the other recommendations I'd received (braces for at least a year or jaw surgery). He took models of my teeth, evaluated my bite and condition of my muscles and suggested that a splint might help. He took his time as he spoke to my husband and I, thoroughly explaining what the treatment process would be and why he thought it might work. We asked Dr. Lecca to help and my treatment began in January 2010.
I was a little concerned about wearing a splint - would people see it? Would it be uncomfortable? Would I be able to sleep with it in my mouth? After receiving it all my concerns dissipated it was barely noticeable it was clear and was only worn on the bottom teeth. It allowed my jaw to relax and for me to eat normally so that I was comfortable for the first time in a year and a half. Sleeping with it in was no problem - it actually helped me relax since there was a relief in the muscle tension.
After just a couple weeks, my bite started to adjust! After three months, I could touch my teeth on both sides of my mouth, which meant that I could eat vegetables and meat because I could finally chew properly. The ability of my body to heal itself when it was given the opportunity was amazing. Dr Lecca and my regular dentist were very surprised at the speed in which my "old” bite returned (and I'm in my fifties). Now, after six months, I'm basically finished with my treatment and have avoided painful surgery and expensive braces.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to Dr Lecca. Not only did the treatment he offered work wonderfully and painlessly, he and his staff were a pleasure to work with. Their concern for the patient is evident in everything they do, whether scheduling and promptly seeing folks at their appointments, answering questions and addressing concerns, or communicating with other professionals as needed.
Thank you again Dr Lecca and please thank the good group of people you have as your office staff. Please let me know if I can help by talking to potential patients. I’ll miss seeing you all but will always be appreciative for your help in getting my smile back!

My experience with TMJ was depressing at first. I gradually noticed clicking and popping of my jaw which turned to locking of the jaw within 6 months time. I thought braces would help so I went to see an orthodontist. He referred me to Dr.Lecca which was the best referral he could have given me. Dr.Lecca spent a great deal of time fitting me with a night guard, adjusting it weekly, and spent all the time needed to get my jaw as comfortable as possible. Within 6 months, my jaw felt 100% better with the night guard. After 2 years of braces (with Dr.Lecca communicating with my orthodontist), my jaw is 75% better without any guard at all. I am currently wearing retainers but once that is complete in 6 months or so, Dr.Lecca will fit me for another night guard that will keep me completely comfortable. I am extremely thrilled with the support and care that Dr.Lecca has given me over the last 2 years and could not be happier today!

I have had the privelege of being treated by the TOP FACULTY members from Harvard, University of Pennsylvania and University of Florida dental schools. Consequently I expect honesty, integrity, passion for dentistry and very high quality work from a dentist. This is a high standard that few can achieve (and believe me I've had my share of disappointments)!
I am proud to say that Dr. Lecca and his staff easily meet that standard and they never fail to impress me.
Keep up the great work! You guys are so worth the drive!
